Classics left to die/rotting pics - Vol 2
Discussion
Spotted this lot down a back road in the middle of nowhere in Wales a while back, went past it today so took some photos. The Allegro has been there since at least 2008 and was in pretty good nick looking at the street view. Worryingly the whole lot was covered in police tape, got to be a story there. A local dog walker said the owner is happy for people to look and take pictures but not touch them (hence the Sharpie's not on the bonnet) after a few instances of parts being robbed.

I am horrified with myself that I cannot immediately identify that chrome door handle. Something about it is saying British Leyland, however.
My best guess was a BL car-derived van of some description. Something about it screams BL.It's rear wheel drive. The gearbox is tiny, the window winder handle is plastic and the one piece of trim is covered in brown PVC. Other than that I'm in the dark to ID

Got talking to the owner of this Rover. Seems it was owned by his father who passed away - then he drove it for a while but parked it up at the start of covid/lockdown. You just don’t see these anymore - not even at weekend shows. I think I saw one at the NEC on one of the owner’s club stands a few years ago but apart from that …
Vitesse as well …

There was a bit of a following for these in the mid 90’s when after companies initially owning they were on to their 2nd and 3rd owners. Vitesse as well …

What a great find and it’s always interesting to see cars like this at shows.
