Nicely done. The 5 door is totally pants - even when new (i had one). The matt window surrounds denote L or Base, the aftermarket wheels are lifting it to new level of performance, kill it now!
Wouldn’t Base or L mean the plastic A frame head restraints of misery? Also “total pants” is a relative term - they were until the mk4 arrived - now the base model of that with the CVH that sounded like it was lubricated by gravel was a new low

Mine was a B reg too, large pillow headrests by then. And it was turd brown.

But, as a company motor in 1984 there was no tax supplement so cheap motoring and reliable too.

Do the wide kidneys mean the burgundy one is a V8?

Possibly, but more likely a facelifted smaller-engined model.

Yes of course, could be...

Tin Snail in Kefalonia - assume a straight 8 under the bonnet with all that side exit exhaust piping....

Had to stop at 1 picture - there are decaying cars every 100m in Kefalonia - not "classics" per se, just forgotten unexceptionals slowly decaying in the blistering sun

Apparently a famous previous owner, it was taken out to restore but was too expensive (I believe)..

Austin Gipsy LWB, cool.

With a battery pack, air compressor and some fresh fuel (and a strimmer), that'll probably drive straight out.

It’s a shame how many of these end up in ste condition, but then 30 years ago they were just another rusty old bus. The other side was 10 times more rusty than this side!
