Cheers DBSV8 smile , it's evolved a bit since I started racing it in 1987, currently doing Classic Thunder and Modified Fords.
Gave it a bit of a makeover during lockdown, I isolated in the garage for 4 months whilst on furlough and made all the panels in carbon fibre biggrin
Engine is a 5.0 32V Cobra V8, about 500bhp, running gear is BMW M3, E46 front legs, E90 rear subframe. AP Brakes 386 & 330mm, 18" wheels and ex BTCC tyres. Weights about 1060kgs.

Just looking at your profile, and when you were running in the Toyo and Falken series, you probably raced against some of the Sunbeam-Lotus guys I used to know quite well 25-30 years ago.....

Yes far too many of them laugh , Mostly Neil Hasler we had a lot of good close races, also Eric Crawley, Jonathan Woodward, Phil Seaman, Mark Wyatt, Rob Beaumont etc.

A typical grid at Cadwell 1993...

Yes thats it,started from back of grid in 45th, some problems in qualy, then in the race found out the M3 diff bolts are st when they sheared and the diff tried to come through the floor !

Will look at doing a build thread would be very long if started at the beginning in 1987. Your Mk1 sounds interesting, can't go wrong with an LSx thumbup

rofl

I knew Neil Hasler well back then, often used to meet up with a beer with him and Steve G and Dave Wills from Lotus Service Centre who used to build his engines, plus a few others.
Jon Woodwood worked for Lotus at Hethel IIRC.

Also used to know Andy Clarkin, although not very well, who used to run a lovely red Sunbeam-Lotus in the Falken series around the same time, and again who used to have his engines built by Steve and Dave.

Ah yes forgot Andy Clarkin's Lotus Sunbeam, he then changed to an ex BTCC Cavalier.

One more pic before 'Spanglepants' tells me off for no JPS content smile

I had a JPS liveried 3.0S MK2 as an 18 year old in the early 80s,SYD753R long gone now,the genuine JPS cars had the gold stripes on the bonnet and the earlier Ronal wheels, mine had the 3.0 Ghia style wheels & grey stripe interior, was 5 years old and in original 1 owner condition, first of many V6 Capris, happy days!

I always fancied a JPS car, but despite owning many MK1 and MK3 3 Litre Capris and 3 x 2.8injections, I’ve yet to own a MK2 Capri.

Any photos of it ?

Neutral 3,looks like you and I have a similar car history, plenty of 3.0s here, several 2.8i/specials,have found some poor pics of the JPS will try and get them up on here, forgot how cool it was,3.1 motor,Vulcan heads,40Dfi,Janspeeds,gold Alleycats, the usual suspects! Tried to trace my last 2.8i Special on here but no luck, keep an eye open for D939UMR if you would, regards.
