I was the second owner of DAC 2Y, and like you wondered where it ended up.
Corgi did a model of it in the Vanguards range part number VA11305.

Although its discontinued, you still see them come on eBay from time to time

Looks reasonable value, if the estimate is correct. That money doesn’t get you much Escort, at least in the RS models.

Surely the upholstery should be navy blue on an Avon and not black and grey stripe?

My apologies. You're bang on.

In that case, lovely as that car is, I couldn't live with that colour combination.

Came across two more pictures of DAC 2Y this week. Was this when you owned her?

I'm sure 77 is still around but don't know for certain. I have found this one picture which looks like it could be 77 but the number plate is only partially visible.
.
Never spotted this thread the first time around, but I think because of the fabric sunroof, that is my old car DAC 71Y, and not 77Y.

About the right price for a decent usable car these days. I think it's about £26k all in with fees etc.

Top bid was £21,500. For some strange reason, they don't include the VAT on the buyers premium, despite making it clear that it is a service charge and is NOT reclaimable! So the full price was £24,080.

£24,000 grand omg, as much as I loved my X reg Moonstone one and would Love another ( I paid circa £700 for it in circa 1997 / 98 ) and sold it on 6 weeks later for £1,300 odd, I could not justify £24 grand.
