I have to say that’s the same scenario happened to me with a Shadow 2 which was bought off me by a well know specialist which suddenly aquired a FSH
Hmmnnnnn......I used to live near to a well known RR 'specialist' that acquired a reputation for doing that......lukeharding said:

Just watching the video of him driving it to the Arctic!
Wonder what's happened to it since.
He still has it to my knowledge. Wonder what's happened to it since.

The MoT history shows it expired in 2018, just a month after they got back. I was wondering if he mothballed it or was doing a proper restoration.
Often been tempted by cheap Rolls and Bentleys over the years. The days of the 5 grand Shadow are gone but there are still plenty around the 9-10 thousand range, Spirits and equivalent Bentleys especially. Considering the ridiculous prices being asked for things like Minis and Escorts etc they look amazing value.
Is it possible to get a worthwhile Rolls at that sort of price, care for it and have an enjoyable hobby car...?

I have had 2 shadows, lovely cars to drive but a potential timebomb waiting to go wrong!
People forget that they were a very expensive car to buy and to maintain, the purchase cost is now Ford money but the repairs and servicing are still Rolls prices!
I did enjoy mine and might have another sometime but as said above buy the very best you can.

I fear that I have missed this boat. I fancied buying a Silver Shadow when I turned sixty, but that isn't for another three years, and the prices have already headed further north than Crewe.
I have driven a couple and think that they are very fine waftmobies.
Buy mine. Vermillion red with chocolate brown leather.I have driven a couple and think that they are very fine waftmobies.

Friend of mine was a salesman at a Royce dealership in the 80s. He'd done a deal with a Brewster Green (from memory) Shadow I as part ex. Lovely car, low mileage, immaculate and well maintained. Easily retailed, even though it was already a few years old.
When it came in it was beautifully presented and drove perfectly, but something was wrong. It didn't smell right.
It took a while to realise that rather than soft, plush green leather, this thing had been specced from new with a vinyl interior.
Wool or velour were not unheard of, but vinyl? Must have been one of one, that. Ever since then I've been sure to check that what claims to be leather, actually is.

Now you are just teasing us!
If I had not just (1) moved house, (2) started on a new business venture, (3) bought yet another shonky Italian car and shonky Italian motorbike, (4) filled my rented barn with tat, and (5) generally spaffed it all up the wall on fun and such, I would be on your Shadow like a tramp on chips, but, alas, reality must sometimes prevail...

I can just see you in a roller - The butler might even let you drive it occasionally!
