Hmmm, is there any way of finding out the change of registration dates at least? I'm the 6th owner of a 2010 Mini and curious as to the timeframes.....

Oops, stumbled across this in a google search and assume my car might not quite come under classic status laugh

"Classic status" isn't relevant. They used to do it for any car, now they won't do it for any.

Really disappointed to learn about this change as I wanted to find out what work, if any, previous owners had had done on my car and when.

I assume the only legitimate reason would be chasing someone for a parking fine?

Just bought another car last month, got the V5 back, it doesn't even show the guy's name and address who I bought it from anymore either.

I've just purchased a used car from a dealer, tried to find out some history from another dealer who have been servicing the car prior to purchase and they wouldn't even give me that information, I wasn't asking for owner details just wanted to know if there was anything that I should be aware of, I can't contact previous owner either to find out, having previous owner info available is essential when buying a car as not all dealers are truthful, I have discovered a problem and would like to know if it's been an on going one !! ??????

I bought a BMW last February so my V5 does show the previous keeper.

But the trade seller had a print-out of when it had been to main dealers, and when I called the service departments of both they told me what work had been done - which was handy as it turns out it had a full service in December 2017 that wasn't in the service book! So I took the book to them and they stamped it up.

Still I won't name the dealer groups, given how much of an issue this seems to be just now!

With the onset of Brexit, does that mean that the French will no longer have access to our details to send us speeding fines?

How great would that be, I'd start driving there again if that turns out to be true!

I may be wrong, but I thought TMs (and presumably BJs) deal allowed EU full acces to alot of our data-bases (but no reciprocal arrangement rage)
I wouldn't be surprised if this included DVLA .....
Not wishing to turn this into a 'B' discussion !
