New Home!? For them presubaly?

But its the same place in Maldon as JD presumably???
Seems not, if you read the article smile

article said:
The 40,000-square-foot facility in Chelmsford, England—just northeast of London—isn’t larger than the firm’s previous workspace (located about 10 miles away), but it offered a blank canvas for the company to better arrange its departments and more efficiently use all of the available space.
Not unconnected, one would imagine, to the fact that the old premises are owned by a certain Hood family.

I wish the best of luck to the new business and hope all the craftspeople are more secure (Covid aside) moving forward.

The Hood legal situation seems to have gone quiet - has he got away with it?

No problem.

The statements about the company's success is a bit off really, as its the staff that won all that, not the new company under the new management.

It's a bit like me going to a new team and they suddenly tell everyone they have won the championships i have. That's what threw me. I guess that's marketing for you.

Notice how they aren't claiming credit for everything the previous company got up to.... wink

(Appreciate it's too late, but...) Wasn't the defence of 'fair comment' going to be enough? If you're not publishing anything knowingly incorrect (i.e. the only info has come from prior owners), then any threat is just bluster.
There is now no such thing as a defence of fair comment. Your knowledge of the law of defamation is several years out of date. In any event, passing on what was said by others would not have amounted to fair comment under the old law.

Well, there’s quite a bit of selective memory going on.

They are airbrushing the past. This is a grand case of "the king is dead, long live the king" in my book. WM have taken over the JD sponsorship of the Revival, are in bed - sorry, partnership - with the Mille Miglia, and all this big money is working together to blow the currently deflated balloon back up again. and the case we thought completely put to bed, that of XKD 604, has reared its ugly head once more. But more on that one anon. I understand that Mr Tuke is eagerly awaiting the resumation of business so he can continue his pursuit of Mr Hood. I don't think the other case in the sum of over £60 million will go away either.

I suspect any remotely movable assets will though. That’s the problem with these cases, there is always more than enough time for investments to fail, gambling addictions to develop, divorces to occur and second hand car dealers know this as well as any corporate lawyer, banker or motorsport businessman.

IMHO the fact that Derek Hood was in the Sunday Times rich list was because they put a high value on his residual shareholding in JD Classics. Those share certificates are, of course, only useful for lighting the fire nowadays. His wife I believe owns the units in Malden, and what he is worth I have no idea.

A pal drove past both of JDs units recently and said they were empty.

Yup. He was in the rich list because like all the others he or his agent begged to be in it and as you say, he supplied the figures and they would have been based mostly in his equity holding which is now zero.

Not sure it was posted before, there is an updated administrators report on Companies House from Oct 2019, on the "Filings" section.

I am not sure my link will work. Administration expenses estimated to total £6.5m, with a lot of litigation/disputes (litigation costs are on top, I think).

Quite - it wasn’t all paper money, PE buyers played plenty of cash up front too.

Probably the knock on effect of the move to new premises.
