woohoo Winter baby.

What are the weather crystals suggesting about this winter? Snowmaggedon? Hope its not the dreary and wet one we had last year.

Feels early. How does this compare to the average first snowfall date?

Its a bit early for this thread, thought you said next week was going to improve in the south east?

Well some of the more clickbaity "news" sites are claiming 'The Beast from the East' could return next month, but I'd give you 20/1 they're acurate.

Also dreary and wet? Did you sleep though Feb and March? We were balls deep in snow and 'enjoying' some seriously low temps.

Last winter and summer were like a Daily Mail readers idea of what the past was like, bitter cold and snow, a 2 week spring and then wall to wall sunshine and high temps for months.

Finally we have some wind, woohoo. After an almost windless summer I've dug out the windsurfing kit over the past few weeks & got myself back into shape for the windy season which has arrived with a bang.

Yesterday was the first of the gale warnings on the old shipping forecast, 35knots gusting 50knots is quite a lot of fun so long as your not in a boat!

And when the video uploads I'll post up the evidence from "onboard"

Yeah... was nothing like that here. Temps consistently below average for most of winter - rarely above 5c

Will the El Nino mean it's too warm for snow?

You do not want to be on a boat in this weather smile 50 knots of wind is plenty scary fast enough on the open sea down Dorset yesterday, testing out the "not a gopro" cam

Well, it's still summer (just), but may as well check in. Hoping for some good snow and cold action this year!

I’ve sailed a race boat offshore in 50kts tws. Even when you and the rest of the crew know exactly what you’re doing, it’s utterly terrifying and not something I’d wish to do again

I’ve bought a Panda 4x4 for this winter. It had better bloody snow hard enough to mean that the mighty Fiat is our only means of survival in the snowy wastelands that North Hampshire will become as Mrs K and Mstr K currently refer to it as “that tiny stbox.

Mind you, the Rayburn is getting serviced next month so that’ll put the scuppers on any cold weather
