so been out of proper stereo stuff for a while so hopefully the PH collective can help ?

have just finished a 20 odd year restoration on an old escort and need a stereo fitted, however I have no room/want for a std type car stereo

my original plan was to hide a std (3 channel) car amplifier somewhwere, run phono cables to amp from 3.5mm jackplug (would need to be fitted in centre console somewhere, fairly easy to hide) then hide speakers under front seats and while building the car I fitted an 8" sub hidden under the rear parcel shelf under the original speaker grill (dealer fit optional mono speaker placement hehe)

but looks ike tech has moved foward without me and I can fit a bluetooth reciever to the amp or there seems to be amps with bluetooth recivers bulit in (however I can only find cheapo 2 channel units ?)

this sounds like a better move as I only want to use my phone the cars not a daily driver so it's just for some music when I drive on the motorways
is this the best bet ? anyone recomend a good amp ? other thoughts ?

I did consider putting some 6" boxed speakers under the seats and trying to get some tweeters on the dash somewhere for a better sound stage but teh cars pretty noisy so think I maybe wasting ny time and It sort of ruins the original idea of having nothing on show ?

So you want to connect the amp to one of these...?: eek:

or are you bringing the HU up to date?

I've got the Pioneer - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pioneer-GM-D8604-4-Channe...

perhaps overkill for what you need, but at £115 it's pretty decent and gives you some flexibility / extra headroom

Thanks for the reply (teach me to use my phone looking at the grammer above !)

My cars much older then that model lol

I dont have or want a head unit, I just wish to stream from my phone originally just fitting a jack but later tech suggests I should be interested in a bluetooth Amp............. something like this I have found

https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KAC-M1824BT-Bluetoo...

but it's 4 channel one ? is there a way with a low pass filter to use one of the other channels to power the sub ? or bad idea ?

You would need a DC-DC converter like this

First of all, pics of the car please smile

But, why don't you just use some stand-alone bluetooth speakers?
