Could be interesting and falls under the things I’ll watch cos they’re about cars.

It’s about Matthewsons car auctions in North Yorkshire. That’s pretty much all I know.

I saw the trailer but didn't know when I was meant to be watching because it said "coming soon".

It looks like it's being repeated at 12am on Monday, so effectively Sunday night.

I was always under the impression a Cooper S had twin tanks.

Laughing bloke was a bit annoying, kid was acting big for the cameras, wife was fit. Liked it will watch again.

I understand that buying that mini, gives the opportunity for some one to ring a stolen car, but I don't understand why they removedthe VIN plate?

Would you buy a car at auction that didn't have a VIN plate?

Didn't they remove the vin so nobody else could when viewing it?

Not all no - a RH tank was optional on the Cooper and Cooper S from introduction in September '61 until December '65, from January '66 all Cooper Ss had twin tanks but on the 998 Cooper it was still only an option. Haven't seen the programme yet - what year / reg' is the car featured...?

Just watched on the UKTV Play App, & available for another 29 days
That’s the kind of TV programme I like, nice people doing a worthwhile thing.
Thoroughly recommended viewing

Thanks - '65 reg' so a RH tank was still optional at the time. My November '65 built / February '66 registered 1275 S 'DPV 180D' had twin tanks ordered by the first owner plus a few other options available at the time.

wink

Hi, I am the producer of Bangers’s & Cash and I am delighted you largely approve thus far. We will be doing a follow up on the Cooper S later this year, and on the Cosworth which is in next weeks show. This is the first of ten eps, lots of vehicles being picked up and coming through in future shows, some restored, some expensive, some not - all sorts : RS turbos, MK 2 Jag, Volvo truck, Royal Enfield, MGB, Bond Bug, Cobra, SD1. Moskvich, Marina, Jowett, Rapier mk 5 - a right mixed bag, but all great in their way. There’s someone for everything. Thanks for support.

I enjoyed it. I’d rather there was more about the cars and less about the people but overall as said before it’s a refreshing change. Also my dad used to live in High Dalby House which is nearby in the locale. Beautiful part of the world. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I haven't watched a lot of that but didn't see anything wheeled in on a pallet!

I'm surprised that shell lasted, if that's the right word, as long as it did. Father's first new car was a '65 Mini de luxe (it had a heater!) and by the early '70s it needed a new rear subframe due to rot.

Since the advent of multi-channel satellite TV the standards in quality have become abysmal. This made a refreshing change. I thought it was decent viewing for a car enthusiast, although it probably wouldn't maintain the interest of a typical ADD sufferer.

Looking forward to more.
