Not a Routemaster but actually an AEC Regent V, built in 1965:

For those unfamiliar with the car.

Not bad for a car launched in 1960.
Ooh, that looks ace.
They do, they also have a bit of TVR Grantura over them, there is also a small connection between TVR and Rochdale.

Also, cos it s a nice day

looks like a nice example, wheels look good under it, I also wondered a time ago if those sort Alfa-ish style wheels would be a good fit under some of those, like those models.

I maybe try 1 of those one day out on a old TVR/Griffith if I'm free to buy one (first have to make room and sell my present car) for such old TVR/Griffith 200/400 or AC Aceca with V8

Reading up on them earlier I found they are monocoque construction, like the original Lotus Elite.

I'm not familiar with them Dicky. I don't think I've ever seen one.
But....
Minilites!
I'm not generally a fan of aftermarket alloys but I like the Minilites on the Rochdale, and I liked them on my Midget.
Sometimes I can forgive them on Minis, even though I never liked Minis.

I've not seen the white Lancia before - the red & blue ones are usually there. Cool cars.

They're contemporary: the Olympic was built from 1960 to 1973.

I had Wolfrace on my otherwise bog standard Mini 1000.

It looked good but in a race with a completely standard Mini 1000 it was slower due to higher roll resistance.

White one had a for sale sign on the passenger seat.

Fat Derek has two of these in his back garden, one is an early model that he built 'back in the day' and now has a 1750cc Alfa engine, the other is a later version with a side opening hatch. Sadly, both need a full restoration, but he refused to sell one to me about 10 years back because 'the number plate has value'!
Yes, Fat Derek, it may have, but you cannot shift it until you make 'em roadworthy!

I even offered to restore both on a one each basis, but still no luck.

Back in the day they used to look mahoosive, but not any more. Have they shrunk?

Everything has shrunk. My wife's new 'Mini' towers over my Quattro, and the TR6 looks like a little go-kart in the garage.

But only the outside has shrunk. On the inside the Quattro is roomier than the Mini and my newish A4.

I think they always did. I was never a fan of Merc design in that era, but the SEC always has something about it.
