Great to see these Ferrari's out and about being driven! - Far too many just sit in storage as investments
Great to see a 250 GTE especially - Over the years they have been getting rarer and rarer as people lift the body's off, to use them as the basis of 250 GTO "recreations"
I suspect the drivetrain from this 250 GTE: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/136470066369?_skw=ferra... , ended up in a 250 GTO "recreation"

I was working in a 5-star hotel in Sydney 1991-93 when something very similar to that appeared on the driveway while its occupants had lunch. It was a stunning thing back then, and still is. It belonged to a stock broker who later did time for insider trading.loughran said:
Out for a drive in the Lot, there was a TR7 a 2CV, A DS, an early Jag and this sweet thing, having a day out.

A1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale ?
Lovely. A1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale ?
My grandmother had one when I was a wee boy. It must have been virtually new at the time.
Cool granny or what? She was a proper petrolhead.
When she passed away at 89 she still owned a Lancia Beta coupé. I had the sad task of clearing it out and driving it to the garage to be sold.
I have owned two Betas myself and they were the only front drive cars I ever really gelled with.
But the Alfa is

In Severn View Services just now. The owner couldn't agree it was his daily as he doesn't drive every day now he's retired
They explained that their other car, a 1974 Mini Clubman Estate with 'fake wood sides', is used more frequently but still not every day and is the most modern car they have.
Marvellous.

My Dad had one of these in 1980 before he pinballed it across the armco of a sliproad of the M1In my mind it was faster than any car I ve ever owned including a mapped R35 GTR but in reality they must be Civic Type R straight line performance?
I still think they look extraordinarily right (unlike the Civic)

I think opinion is divided on the SS. Some feel it's a bit over-bodied, but I love it for its swoopy curves and because it's just so different. There was one at Auto Italia at Brands a while back, in black with red leather. Looked fantastic, IMO.
A good friend of mine is aware of my weakness for unreliable grp cars with pyrotechnic aspirations.
Hence he sent me a photo from his local pub meet.
So what is the unusual white 2 seater parked next to the Scimitar ?
Plate obscured so as to confound. Oh and the mystery car is aluminium-bodied, not grp.
