Fairlady was given to it after the head of Datsun saw the film of the same name thinking as it was popular it would make a good name for the car

I think the first gen 240Zs were called Fairladies, with the Fairlady bit being dropped for exports. My Fair Lady, it could have been worse I suppose...

I can never get on that site. I was trying to help my daughter buy a Spitfire for tootling around Sydney, but gave up and in any case they seem to be surprisingly expensive out there.

Nothing is “surprisingly expensive” in Sydney, it’s all just “expensive” including classic cars unfortunately.

love those, nice example and so many variants they made at the time on and around the Fiat 850, also Abarth and sorts, sometimes you come across car ads and you say to yourself, I did not knew they made also that variant in mostly a few examples.

Not quite. I just seem to have an unnaturally good memory for places I've only driven through once. We were based there back in July based in the Maremma, just north west of Viterbo, and passed through it on one of the many driving excursions I insist on doing. My wife would have know it oo, as she was on the maps, but the boys would only know what video they were watching on YouTube at the time

We were in a white Fiat Tipo diesel estate, I think, but it was completely forgettable.
