When the millionth Morris Minor had been built, Morris did a special edition called, and badged, the Minor Million with 1,000,000 where the 1,000 was usually situated. I've got a feeling they were all mauve. We saw one in the car park at West Wittering when they were new. Much excitement ensued.

They were simpler times.

Correct. All 350 commemorative cars were two-door Deluxe models painted in a unique lilac colour and featured special "Minor 1000000" motifs and white-gold ivory leather trim.

The actual millionth car, with the registration plate "1 MHU" (one million in engineering terms), was used for publicity and later raffled for charity.

Noted. There are a few Minors still in use near me. I’ll look a little more closely in future smile

I know the near big, far away small thing applies here, but the SUV thing next to it doesn’t look that much taller

Absolutely stunning - the pinnacle cloud9

Unbelievably went into production almost 60 years ago.

When you get it that right you don't need huge diameter wheels and low profile tyres to bale it out.

The Miura owes a lot to the GT40.

You say that every time.

I know.

from a stylistic p.o.v. you are correct buuuut... surely one of the reasons for big wheels is the need to fit decent brakes?

The Only good reason for lower profile tyres on road is bigger brakes, the styling is subjective as well

Coincidentally, I had to look it up the other day and it stuck with me. Luckily.

A nice mix of runners, dozing and irretrievables at a kibbutz about half an hour west of Tel Aviv. Open free of charge every Saturday morning.

That Spit looks quite up together. The last place I'd expect to find one of those.

LHD and big bumpers, so I assumed a US import. Was in pretty solid condition and had fresh mud on the tyres.

The above view is indeed "stunning".
But imvho the front 3/4 view is ruined by 'the gap' - ie, where the front wheels' track-width is much narrower than the width of the wheel-arches, which makes it look knock-kneed. (Ditto the E-type.)
Surprised nobody's devised a fix, as per Eagle's for the E-type.
