Lovely. What are the wheels?
Thank you, wheels are Momo Vega reps. I absolutely love them but they divide opinion!

Does that have a concave number plate?
Yes, there is normally a large plastic mount that sits in that space so that the plate is flat. I thought it looked a bit cumbersome and ruins the lovely lines of the rear so when I had it painted a few years ago I ditched the mount and put a sticker registration plate directly onto the body.

I seem to recall this chap is a PHer (possibly on this thread, too) wavey and it was delightful to see on the road, dog's head out of the window and seeing the lovely headrests through the rear windscreen. Driven in a sprightly manner too.

Thanks for catching me and Jack!
I was in the i3. Thank you for speeding up for the lights on Lower Downs Road so that we both made the green!

Don't give me credit for that, more likely enjoying the sound of my open trumpets when I give it a blast but glad there was another side effect of me pressing on!
Have you been to the local classic car event every month at Southside Common in the Village?

Once or twice. Alas, the date coincides with my motorcycle club Observed Sunday meetings. At least someone did capitalise on the potential of the area, I long harboured the idea of creating RPM -- Raynes Park Motorists, but didn't have the capacity nor wherewithal to realise it! Happy to make RPM an informal monthly pub meet, however!

Wow, if you could drive so well and so easily, so fast in the woods, it's a real achievement.

By the way, they sound great and they look fast; those RWD models are also cool-ish.

The Starlet doopsnoot spotted is a later. FWD one. Also, the RWD going sideways is heavily modified, most likely with an Opel red top engine. They were very popular with the short / oval track racers, much like Sunbeams were.

A Mazda is not something that normally grabs my interest; but the 671 Blower made it special smile

I'm guessing NZ by the plate and reg? Where was it spotted?

I had a 929 coupe like that in Oz, it was a good car. It had an i4 rather than a rotary though.

If only the 1982 1.0DL that my dad purchased new could have performed like that, he may have kept it longer.

Ones used in Finnish rally series use Toyota 4K or 5K. They have about 200hp from NA 1600cc. There is long tradition of tuning them all the way to 11.

They had a modified 1,600 Ford Crossflow with twin Webers when they were raced as Hot Rods on the ovals in England so would have had a bit less power but still pretty quick given how little they weighed.

Or you could turn it up to 12 as was done here in NZ:

You're lucky enough to live in a country where they do things simply and effectively whereas here we overcomplicate everything and then make a pigs ear of the work so that's not an unusual pavement.
