Spotted this XJ-S a couple of times now

I’ve seen a fair few of these now with the double round headlights - I think the US got those as standard, so do owners convert to them and if so, why? Is it just the aesthetics?

Talking of Cortinas...

There's an XJS with a rear like that, although I think that used a Citroen boootlid.
Citroën rear screen, bespoke tailgate.

Two wonderful spots. Can any AM beard here tell be the model and colour?
It looks like it has a green tinge but these are both Jubilee Silver - wonder if they are the same?

I might have posted a few of these last year, can't remember. Back in Damascus for the first time in a while and all of these were seen on a half hour stroll around the block, plus a few others that I definitely have posted before. Probably time to get a new camera.

VW with Merc alloys

Any ideas on these? This had a Pontiac badge

and this had Ford hubcaps

The bottom one definitely has elements of the Mk1 Consul/Zephyr about it. I'm not saying that's what it is but that the pic shows an American Ford of pretty much the same vintage as the Consul/Zephyr. the doors look identical.

A perfect picture showing why I have always preferred the less fussy look of the 'normal' cars over the Vantage.

And my dad spotted this recently. Couldn't believe it was street parked in Upminster of all places when he sent me the photo

Its known simply as the V8.
As someone else said, likely jubilee silver but Aston would paint a car any colour you kiked.

It s a 1951 Ford Custom, probably running a Flathead V8 and Ford-O-Matic auto box

EFA (beard alert) the rear door of the Mk 1 Consul and Zephyr/Zodiac doesn t have a curved trailing edge to clear the wheel arch, and the Mk ll has a much more pronounced curve, so I m guessing the doors in the pic are specific to their American cousin

Willamp will know this but for the rest of the congregation's benefit, retrospectively the AMOC labelled the cars of this era with 'series' designations.
So that is a Series 3 V8.

It goes:
DBS, There was a Vantage version with Weber carbs.

DBS V8

V8 Series 2, there was a 6 cylinder version of this called the Vantage with wire wheels and is not well remembered.

V8 Series 3, bigger bonnet hump to clear carbs as they finally abandoned the troublesome mechanical fuel injection. Vantage introduced as an option.

V8 Series 4 or Oscar India (which is a pretentious name whereby OI stands for October Introduction in NATO Phonetic alphabet speak) The integrated rear spoiler from the Vantage became standardised, Series 4 in Vantage spec is Vantage Series 2, obviously rolleyes )

V8 Series 5 with a flat bonnet got EFI from Weber Marelli IIRC, Vantage stayed on Carbs.

There were 3 changes of ownership and 2 bankruptcies in this period as well. It's a chaotic if not uninteresting history.

This was always my favourite of this range, even if it did have MK11 Cortina indicator/sidelamp units.

I think they're acting as fenders like on a yacht.

It's possible I have stumbled upon the only retro hillclimb S Class Merc.....However, the other suggestion has some credibility too.
