COOL CLASSIC CAR SPOTTERS POST! (Vol 3)
Discussion
Spotted yesterday, and something I've never seen before. Popping the reg into the MOT database tells me it's a 'Vindicator F4' which apparently is so named due to design cues taken from the F4 Phantom jet. A quick Google and I found a pic showing the front, and I sort of see what they mean. No idea what the performance is like (I didn't see any reheat), and very little info online on the engine and running gear.
Immaculately turned out, central driving position, and what seems to be a set of Volvo rear lights. Classic? I'm not sure, but certainly noteworthy. Whether you like it or not the originality has to be applauded! Not my cup of tea but nice to see something different on the road.

At least it looks as though it stands a chance of keeping up with traffic. At the head of a lengthy London bound tailback one morning on the M3 was a Renault Twizy managing a steady 35mph. The girl steering looked as though she was in a happy place so that's something. Singlehandedly saving the planet. And holding everyone up.
Are they legal on Motorways?

What a weird looking thing. What is the donor car?Immaculately turned out, central driving position, and what seems to be a set of Volvo rear lights. Classic? I'm not sure, but certainly noteworthy. Perhaps a little new for some tastes.
Spotted a very nice C36 AMG near Colne in Lancashire, a quick google suggests it is/was owned by a PHer @SIM16V

(for avoidance of doubt, I was in a LHD car, pic taken while I was passenger)

I have been max speed in a Twizzy, up the hill at goodwoodAre they legal on Motorways?
55mph i think
Even at that speed, it would be terrifying on a motorway

Not sure it looks much like a spook?Immaculately turned out, central driving position, and what seems to be a set of Volvo rear lights. Classic? I'm not sure, but certainly noteworthy. I remember family holidays in Wensleydale in the 70s and Phantoms would come beating up the valley. I remember fondly being halfway up the side of the dale and seeing an F4 blatting past with (what I think was full reheat - visible shock diamonds in the exhaust) and I'm looking down into the cockpit! They were LOW!
That aside, I rather like that, it's different. I mean with all due respect the Nissan Bluebird... it's nice to see an old car but they were the automotive equivalent of tartan slippers when they were new! Some of the Mercs spotted recently are very simple three boxes, four wheels and a three pointed star.
