Very lovely Land Rover outside gym today.

Surprised they had enough energy left to go the gym, having driven an old Land Rover there! hehe
I've still got big arm muscles from the days I drove Landrovers in my early career.

They are brilliant! There is nothing on earth like the experience of having your first motorway driving lesson in a Series III Air Portable Land Rover on the Monday after you passed your 'B' licence test in a Nissan Sunny on a Friday. Hard work, but so much fun too. (He says, looking back with his finest rose tinted spectacles on...)

Lovely P4 Rover 110 basking in the sun at the local retail park. Looked unrestored to me. 1964 was the last year of production for these giants (of their day). This looked in lovely condition.

That Rover is lovely. Reminds me of my grandfather's.

The last year of production of the ‘Auntie’ Rover I think. What a dated design when compared to its much more modern looking contemporaries - Cortina, Anglia, Mini, Viva etc but none the worse for that, and still a very majestic and solid old thing. One of our schoolteachers had a 110 in the late sixties and it was a lovely mix of walnut and leather inside smile

Citroen Visa on the M25 on Tuesday night.

No pic as was driving. Looked scruffy enough to be in daily use!

Almost out this on the abandoned vehicles thread as it had a lot of patina: scruffy, peeling laqueur bodywork, scruffy.

An Audi 80 Avant V6 quattro.

But it has a fresh ticket and is used. Not a huge Audi fan, but I really like this car. If it was abandoned I would be knocking on doors

I do wonder about people who leave a car with its wheel cocked out like that its the difference between a minor side scuff collision wise to costing a bloody fortune or even a total loss rolleyes some cool spots keep em coming bow

maybe the hand brake isn't very efficient?

In which case the wheels are pointing the wrong way.

No they aren't, the car is facing uphill parked off-side to the kerb, wheels are left hand down, so if the car rolls the front end swings 'right' and therefore closer to the kerb, stopping the roll.

Exactly - good practice in any car.

I was advised to do just that by a Policeman, after my car rolled away (the handbrake was on, but it wasn't in gear).

I once saw a Mercedes van parked up with full lock on, and it was a hell of a lock, the wheel was sticking right out. It got clipped by a close pass at fairly low speed and the damage done to both vehicles seemed way beyond the kinetic energy involved compared to a light scrape or as would've been more likely, no collision at all. I think the likelihood of being clipped is probably greater than a roll away. No need for it unless you live on a hill and don't trust your car, in which case, chock it.
