Not the most exotic classics, granted but pleasantly surprising given we were inside the TT course while racing was on & there's only a few hundred properties accessible. Also parked out of shot a Jag XK-R & a er, 1986 Nissan Sunny..

As for crap cars for sale in 1998, while not on sale for 28 years, I bought a 1.3 Lada Samara in 2003 for £25 from a local garage for spares & ended up doing 10k miles in the thing. It was scarcely believable in this case that it was 7 years old: more rust than Ramsey pier, 1 of the doors only opened from the inside, the blowers screeched past the 1st level, I could go on. That said, all it cost me for those miles was a new clutch, starter, 2 tyres & a can of WD40. Only when the braking system was shot did I drive it to the scrappie - & catch a steam train home, as you do in the Isle of Man.

It's pretty gruesome reading! Hilariously it failed in 2014 with a list of failures as long as your arm, then 5 days later he gets it retested and it fails on exactly the same items!! Also, on the occasions it fails then passes on the retest a few days later, the advisories are pretty much all the same even when you would normally address the advisories if extensive remedial work is going on on the same components. However it can't be that his MOT tester is his mate as no mate would list that many faults!
