Interesting E London pic.
Any idea of the street name?
There was an Earl of Ellesmere in Poplar, E14 (according to What Pub), it was demolished in 2003.
Most of the tower blocks in the distance will still be there, although many now have retrofitted pointy roofs.
Looking at Ellesmere St and Brabazon st E14 nearby on Google maps, looks like similar flats in the areaAny idea of the street name?

I thought similar, bit they aren't quite the same - ones in the pic are a little wider & the balcony treatment's different. Also you can't get the same angle to show the three storey block & the towers - road position could've changed through redevelopment though.

my missus brought me the 1971 Motor Show "review" from a Car Boot - with the cars in the show "featured"....some interesting prices.....
1971 - Porsche 911s @ £5,400 - and Capri 3000e was £1,666 new...
Hindsight and all that!
Based on RPI, £5400 in 1971 is equivalent to around £82k now. So may not have been such a great investment tbh.1971 - Porsche 911s @ £5,400 - and Capri 3000e was £1,666 new...

An average of 1% above RPI every year would give £140,000
A car isn't free to own, unlike a 1% above RPI investment.

I concur, but you have the use of the car whilst owning it, yes you have running costs, but depreciation, which is usually the biggest cost of ownership is the opposite.
Being able to use it and not being stung by depreciation is a great benefit, but never be fooled into thinking it's an investment, especially if it's not your only car.I bought a car in Nov 2010 for just under £6,000. It's now worth £16,000, but I've lost money on it. Insurance, VED, MOTs, time-based maintenance. I've just about had "only pay for fuel" motoring, but that's it.
