Struggling to identify the white car behind the MG and the Beetle on the left, but the white saloon with black vinyl roof to the left of it looks like a 'Randall & Hopkirk' Vauxhall Ventura.

Yep four door as the two door doesn't have the C pillar vent.

Aprilia Cabriolet. Lovely.
Thank you escort , with the v4 ?
I saw one at a classic car show many years ago in Wiltshire and didn’t know Lancia made a cabrio version. The owner told me all about it (he’d imported it from France and restored it). Can’t remember the engine but Google says it was a small V4.
I don't think Lancia did make it. Isn't that a Pininfarina design ?

Could be I guess, though the chap didn’t mention Pininfarina as far as I can remember.

ETA Googling has just turned up this one by Pininfarina

Smart looking burgundy Simca 1301/1501 far right - must have been quite new and parking it by the sea wouldn't have been a great idea - they rusted for fun.

I think P5 was referring to the car to the left of these - white with the black roof. Looks a bit Mk3 Cortina to me

As for the beach, anyone know? I'd say Weston-super-Mud but the water has an almost blue'ish hue, so is clearly somewhere else...

If it was Weston you would see Brean down on the horizon.
As you rightly point out the sea is the wrong colour as well

The grille does look to be a slightly different shape!

P5BNij correctly (IMV) identified that car as a Vauxhall Ventora.

And definitely not sunny WSM.

Correct as far as a FD Ventora goes.

Its not Pendine either, as you'd also see the Pembury and Gower headlands out in the distance?

I would think Pendine is still a possibility. Maybe a Gilbern on the beach car park would have been the clincher. One of those typical South West Wales summer days when the sea mist rolls in and the Gower Peninsula suddenly "disappears" - I remember many times canoeing off Oxwich Bay when suddenly the entire land mass disappears - very worrying.

The ramp in the foreground looks similar to the one outside the Beach Hotel. I remember driving down there in my Escort Mexico before impressing my new girlfriend with some perfectly executed donuts on the Sands. This made her feel sick and she wanted to go home to her mum. In Eurovision terms another "nil pointe".

It looks like it could be used without modifying, albeit easily only anticlockwise. Clockwise would be a bit tricky.

A gathering in Malton marketplace (N Yorks) in the thirties. The formal parking layout suggests is might be some sort of special event. Guess we’ll never know... smile
