Watching a ’sort of’ documentary about DMC DeLorean and the ‘Back to the Future’ cars and they showed an early clip of the first batch being unloaded in America in 1981… It appears they were shipped with Audi Coupe GT’s

It's down by the old pier.
Waiting for some fog to roll in and the car carrier to leave so they can start filming.

Some fog and an old pier are de rigueur in most Scooby Doo episodes.

Little known fact is all Scooby Doo cartoons were filmed in live action and then artists painted over the film to make it look like a cartoon.
Now there is motion capture and things are much easier.

John DeLorean: "And I'd have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for you pesky FBI agents..." etc

It’s…

A mixture of cringeworthy content inter dispersed with some quite interesting facts and history.

Nope, not that one. I mean the earlier, curvy Granada vaguely resembling the Mk111 Tina in style.
I have an idea it was badged "Fairlane" but can't be sure.
Rented it from an outfit called Backpacker Rentals in South Freo, WA who had a fleet of starship-mileage rattlers to pick from but they were cheap. Good value, I thought. Last time I was over in 2017 they were still in business.
You are right.

My cousin had one when I visited in 1989…

Is that not Ro-Land from Grangehill before he ate all the pies?

Can't work out what the small grey thing is behind the Mother Pride lorry....

It looks a bit like a Mini pick-up but with a Clubman front on it? Or is it a Fiat of some kind?

Moskvich or Polski Fiat would be my best guess. Too big for Mini?

Datsun of some kind? Looking at wiki it could be a B20.

Some distortion in the photo I suspect - could be a Lada/Fiat 124/VAZ-2101 ?

How about the front end of the sports car (pointing in the opposite direction) in front of the van ?

MGB/Scimitar ??

I'd agree with the sports car being an MGB - I even think I might be seeing a Rostyle wheel in that arch!

I think the pick up is a 'B' as well.... A Mazda B series.

Looking at the A pillar I like the idea of it being a Mini pickup with a Clubman front, probably a fibreglass one.

I just think it is a bit sad that nobody's getting excited about the BMW! I know it is a 6 series, but a 635CSi? Can anyone read that personalised reg?
Probably has the best chance of being a survivor out of all the cars in the frame.
