The very same - there are variations on the details but the gist of it is that Ferruccio had a problem with the clutch and went to the Ferrari factory to tell Enzo what he thought about it, he was given the brush off and went home decidedly angry and determined to build his own car and out do Ferrari. His son Tonino confirmed this in an interview a few years ago and described his father banging his fist on the dinner table that evening in total disgust at how Ferrari treated him. By the end of 1962 Ferruccio had purchased the land to build his new car factory and the rest is (sublime) history.

I didn't think that was ever issued - DVLA says number not found so if it was issued has it somehow been withdrawn deleted?

It’s shown with a Manx symbol on the plate, but not a Manx number. I believe IOM registrations have a MN in their combination.

Doesn't show up on a Manx plate lookup either.

Can we move on from schoolboy fascination with rude words on number plates please?

Thanks for this - won't see crowds of sea frolickers or parked cars here any more, as this area is now closed off from public access. Do we think early 1950s?

When did that happen? They barred access to the breakwater, but this car park was still operating last November.

As for naughty numbers I thought a glamour model had that plate seen above? Fiona Richmond iirc.

Sorry, rather opaque comment, was referring to the breakwater & the beach. Only visit Newhaven infrequently, and am thus no expert, but have never seen that car park with more than a few cars in it.

The Porsche 914 is unveiled to a slightly unimpressed public in 1969.... what appear to be Fuchs style alloys are actually pre-production trims fitted to four bolt pattern steel wheels, for some reason they were not put into series production....

I have a theory that these were used on the Ed Straker car in 'UFO' with perhaps some modification to make them fit onto the Ford wheels it had. Porsche supplied three cars to the production team in '69 for product placement, a very early 914 which was probably the first one in the UK, and a pair of 911s, namely a white Coupe and a red Targa.

White police Rover centre picture has the out of period vinyl C pillar of the yet to be born Mk2 plus 3500 S wheel trims yet has a MK 1 grille. That makes it unwatchable for me, I am afraid.

I am no expert on Rovers - but surely that is a Rover 3500, judging by the air scoop under the bumper?

What do you mean out of period?

It was filmed on location in March/April 1972...?

It was shot in 1972, and some 1970 / 71 P6s had a mix and match appearance at the time. Of course it may well have been tarted up for the film, there are many examples of this with P6s in '60s and '70s TV shows and films.
