The DVLA car check service is offline at the moment.

XT353 looks like an Austin 12 Clifton, but something isn't quite right. It's circa 1922/23 I reckon.
XT was issued by London from April 1924, this would be from that month (XT9999 was reached in June)

I can only assume it's an early form of joke-badging, like putting Bentley badges on Chryslers. Would have been funnier if it was four linked rings...

Or a BMW roundel, given Lamborghini's later attempt at assembling the M1.

Countach aside, there's a really wide variety of cars in that pic.

Hard to tell from the b/w photo, but if that’s a beige Countach in Berlin, where most Taxis were beige Mercedes, it would be mildly amusing.

Berlin was quite an 'international' city back then

Volvos were allowed in the East for very high ranking DDR citizens, professors, scientists, top party members etc

A few shots taken at Granada Studio Tours in Manchester in December 1990 of mostly yankie motors on display.

The Magnum PI Ferrari (whether the actual car used in the TV series I don't know):

Stretched station wagon, apparently used by Elvis Presley:

I wonder where these cars are now?

The DDR Museum in Berlin has a Volvo Limo (264 TE via Wiki), along with the obligatory Trabant, on display.

Interesting bit of history w/ those Volvo's.

One also appears in the (excellent) film "The Lives of Others".

Yes that's Lance Percival in the third photo. I'll wager a pound to a penny the old boy hand painting the coachline on that Silver Cloud III is called Reg, Bert or Ron wink

1967 Cadillac de Ville if you were wondering. No idea what TV series that was in though.

Somewhere along the Chester line to the north west of the station I'd say, and c.1965 onwards, the loco is a Brush / BR / Sulzer Type 4 (later called Class 47) which has the modified two piece roof mounted radiator grilles.
