What engine is that? Certainly not A7!The engine had only been launched the year prior and it didn't sit up front.
I can't think, well I don't have to think, of anyone else who ever attempted this.
There were other tuners who jumped at tuning this particular new engine, but nobody ever suggested nor thought of putting it 'up front'.
He then went on to build a prototype sports car in the front room of his semi detached, where he lived with his mum and a couple of guys who rented as a bedsit.
Mum was told to move upstairs as were his friends moved to other rooms - why?
So the front room could be his makeshift 'garage'.
When built the idea was to demolish the front bay window and wall and 'drive the car out!' then rebuild the frontage.
In the end this didn't happen, the 'car' was manhandled on to its side and got through the front door, and finished off outside under a shelter.
The house was No. 22 Chinbrook Road, Grove Pk, London. Wonder if who lives there now realises it was the birthplace of a new sports car company?
Any wiser?

The number 15 routemaster going to the White Horse Eastham, my old stomping ground.Actually, on closer inspection, that car has much smarter seats than my no-headrest cheapies had.
