I think it rather neatly sums up our future influence in the world, the way things are going.Coolbanana said:
I wouldn't have thought you would be against the Public expressing an opinion and openly challenging a Leader in a Democratic country - they aren't invited to the Wednesday PMQ's so have to make themselves heard wherever they can, and Leaders need to not back away from such. A good Leader will confront negative elements in a Crowd, not shy away. Rewrapping cowardice as something 'forced' due to possible negative opinions being voiced is hardly endearing in a strong Leader.
I'm just guessing why he chose not to stand at that lectern. Not challenging democracy. Clapham suggests his PO advised him badly, but the BBC thing was only a week ago, so it seemed relevant to the discussion to bring it up. I don't think protestors are lacking opportunity to make themselves heard - what's more interesting is the media response to it.

Really, how does that square with his agitating for an election?tangerine_sedge said:
Somehow worse than both Cameron AND May?
The leader who makes Corbyn electable?
May was disliked by all, Boris is liked by millions and would easily win a general election despite the mediaThe leader who makes Corbyn electable?
He's a divisive personality and like Trump in this sense - despised by many but will still get relected
Corbyn is still unelectable
