With the direct replacement K and N filter being unavailable right now does anyone have a suitable alternative high flow air filter for engines making comfortably over 300hp as many are these days. The standard issue pipercross is great but hp seems to drop off when it's getting dirty (as you might expect!, but a high flow alternative will delay that happening).

I know some people are using twin filters in the nose but I am hoping to find a replacement that will flow well over 300hp of air before becoming too clogged, and more importantly be easy to feed through the radiator intake aperture at the front of the car.

Does anyone know of a good high quality filter that will fit and be high flowing for a long time ?

cheers

On this subject, has anyone fitted a small scoop to force air into the filter? Could work well at speed.

Here you go Joolz, one of the K&N individual filters fitted on my car, you mapped it at 473bhp, so you should be ok.
Just about fits through the grill

Sorry for the Australian pic

Can you remember the part number ? I can't seem to get any results from the kandn site for the dimensions I need (or anything remotely close)

and does it definitely fit through the front radiator aperture?

cheers!

I just had a look at mine and it has no part number visible but it is 110mm dia (Max dia of the plastic end cover) x 220mm long (filter part) and fits into a Mk2 opening. But you do have to squash it a bit to get through and make sure the filter element does not scratch the paint.
