I have memories of one in championship saloon racing.
Understeer was very very much in evidence as well as leaning like a ship in a storm .

Did the Canadian cars have the "nice" (non-fixed / sealed beam) front end? I ask as this Canadian car (in London) has the nicer (moving) lights: https://www.dukeoflondon.co.uk/product-page/citroe...

Canadian original cars were same as US but Canada has a 15 year import rule for used cars compared to the US 25 year rule,. so some got here earlier. At a guess they retrofitted the Euro lights as part of the rest.

Those mirrors. eek
Amazingly, that car still shows on the DVLA database and currently has SORN in place so it may well still exist.

Parked next to us in Dorset in the summer. Lovely car and had a chat with the driver. I still remember going to the motor show and seeing the sm maserati, which is a thing of beauty.

Funny you should say that, I've been thinking the same thing. hehe

But what sticks in my mind about that picture from the time was the fact that it was a right hand drive car, hence standing on that side. Even at that young age I knew it was a rarity.

Just hope prices don't go through the roof before I can get one though.

No cars left the factory in RHD I think?

I always like a private RHD conversion

A handful or even less were converted by Citroen in Slough as a special order as far as I'm aware. smile

^^
Apparantly not.

A quick search shows three were done for Citroen, Slough by Middleton Motors:

Five more were converted on arrival in Victoria, Australia too.

That white ex-Canadian SM in London looks very tempting....!

Still have the original sales brochure somewhere, it's quite something if you've not seen it.

Just oozes early '70s glamour doesn't it.... this one and a few others are given good coverage in Brian Long's excellent SM book, Veloce publishing have done a few others to the same high standard including the Dino 246 and Urraco.

When my garage revamp is finished I'm having this pic blown up and put on the wall...

Surely one of the very most stunning cars ever made.
The one Burt Reynolds is driving ( in Gator? ) is a manual as well.

How many RHD ones were converted do we know? Did they retain air con if fitted as I seem to think there was an issue from something I read...somewhere...
