Was there ever a manual Citroen SM?
Discussion
I find these incredibly desirable, have done since a child, and often toy with the idea of buying one. I guess if you seek out a good example with appropriate upgrades/mods it shouldn't prove any more troublesome than other semi exotics of the period.
It does appear prices have peaked for the time being. I believe the asking price of the example displayed at this years London Classic show was reduced from c. £50k to £35k to secure a sale.
Now wheres my courage. Must have tobacco leather.

Thanks again and what a beautiful car, the colour really suits it!! I've read the print off the Brooklands road test SM book and taken into consideration the length of just over 16ft bumper to bumper, luckily my garage is just deep enough. The SM is about 6'' longer than the Series 2 XJ6 I had which is fine. The first time I ever sat in one was at the NEC a few years ago, a gorgeous metallic gold one with tan interior, sitting in it and closing the door I thought for a minute that I was in an episode of Gerry Anderson's 'UFO'... it was utterly otherworldy.
How often do you use yours...?
That’s exactly the same colour as mine. Unfortunately mine is only a 1/43 model. Still nice to look at though. How often do you use yours...?

This is where I start to get annoyed about certain members of the trade.https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1159608
The red car on the attached showing as sold and having an asking price of £50k was nothing of the sort. I don't know what the original price was but by the time it left their website it was down into the 30's. I suggest they have continued to advertise it, but at a much higher price, to make it look like the green one coming into stock at £45k is good value.
A friend let me drive his a couple of years back - on a Friday evening around the North Circular during rush hour - daunting at first but I was grinning for the rest of the weekend, they are just magical.
Out of reach for me now, but if I could I would, so if you can, don’t hesitate.
