Does anyone in the VSCC know about this lot?
my dad has been member of the vscc for years, and my granddad was one of the founder members of the riley club, the Trinty does a full show season every year & did a 400 mile run last year.

my dad does go to the occasional vscc meets, and we go to Cadwell nearly every year

Austin..this page should interest a number of Forumists...is it acceptable to arrange a "link"? I have to say that I had not so far heard of a Riley Trinity....but am mighty impressed at the life, usage and true VSCC way it has been owned. A perfect story for the Bulletin surely!

lovely. You keep mentionnuing using the Jensen "hard". I keep having these images of the noise as the tacho swing upwards towards some unseen horizon. Lovely stuff!

Oh, they'll take a bit of punishment without complaint but the tacho will struggle to rev much past 4500rpm.

That's hardly surprising given the DS7 is a tuned lorry engine, it's no twin-cam.

My Sunbeam Tiger, bruised but unabashed, circa 1970.
Sadly not around any more by the looks of things. When did you two part company?

been scanning a load of old slides...

my grandads Jensen 541R in about 1970, just after my dad had repainted it. note the Austin A40 headlamp surrounds - the only 541r ive ever seen to have them fitted. this was a brute of a car, my grandad drove it as it should be driven - i lusted after this car when i was little, and still do, one day it will be back on the road (been in storage for years!)

my grandads DS in the late 1960's on holiday in the check republic (i think)

what could possibly go wrong when lifting it onto a boat?

thats right.....the car lifter ripped both rear wings off........

the rest of the european tour was done with the wings strapped onto the roof rack.....

here is it getting some attention at home

my grandad loved this car, eventually it was so rotten it had to be broken up - he replaced it with the Jensen. i still own the roof rack and use it now!

this is his Riley RMA, he loved rileys and owned many prewar ones, this one was run late 1950's / early 1960's it was eventually replaced by the DS

after the DS died, and before the Jensen he was 'in between' cars, so he had to borrow my dads MG to go on holiday with my granmother

this car was infamous, as once my dad jammed the brakes on at a set of lights and the passenger seat broke and my grandmother slid under the dash and broke her nose - i think my dad had to sell it very shortly after!

heres a picture of my dads motorbike, its a triumph cub (i think)

more soon

Weren't the DS rear wings intentionally removable - just held on by one large bolt? Perhaps this was the reason for their demise.

Guru1071, I've sent you an email about the Jensen - I noticed the copy that Pistonheads sent to me went straight into my Spam folder so you might need to check there!

I had one of those when we first got married, bought it off my Mum & Dad as we were skint, a 1300 LE Coupé complete with gold body, chocolate brown vinyl roof and brown and orange 'LE' stripes. It was a dreadful car.

The ex-SWMBO with the car of doom - one of the first 1275cc Marinas. From memory the picture was taken somewhere between Edinburgh and Newcastle.

Heres a few of my early cars.

I was always a big Vauxhall fan hence the two novas, but then fell in love with the Renault 5 GT turbo, of which I owned three in the end.

My 1st Nova, a 1986 1.3 SR (taken at Oulton Park) around 1990.

My 2nd Nova, a 1991 1.4 SR, was no where near as much fun (or as quick) as the earlier 1.3!

My Beloved 1990 Renault 5 GT turbo 'Raider'. Came to a sad end after a volvo pulled out on me without looking!weeping
