A sailing club, probably somewhere in the Derby/Nottingham area, picture from the early 1960’s.
Some interesting old motors – my late father’s red Aston DB2 by the building.
No sure what lurks under the tarpaulin – Triumph Razor Edge?
Austin or Rover next to it?
Note the other Aston (DB Mk3?) with the boat on the roof (!).
looking at the chrome strip on the front wing, probably a DB2/4 MK2. The bling version of the DB2 range..

For a car which, in total they built just a few hundred its amazing to see two close together. Especially when there is only one Mini, one Anglia etc etc
What is the car to the right of the Anglia? Vauxhall Cresta/Wyvern?
Yep, Vauxhall Wyvern.

Is it Bugs Bunny / Will E Coyote / RoadRunner?

If TR4man were to provide the link to the original pic instead of the PH download...
It is from Pinterest. However if you Google "Diana Rigg car" you will see the photo.

Hopefully this link will work

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=diana+rigg+car&a...
and the caption is "Mrs Emma Peel of 'The Avengers' (Diana Rigg), and her 1965 Lotus Elân Series 2" so it's off to a bad start

True.

Very difficult to tell from the resolution on the photo........all the trim is the same on both, only the front wing name plates are different, but are so similar, its hard to see!

I imagine she was quite disappointed, to have a GT6 dangled in front of her then being told to make do with a Lotus Elan.

A rather inelegant exit from a GT6 by Diana Rigg

Looks mighty fine to me
Looks photo shopped to me.
There's something weird going on in her eyes, but that might be from several resizing / sharpening. I was trying to figure out what the cartoon on the back of the door is, without being seen to zoom in. Not sure if that's a sticker or a watermark.

If you study lots of Diana Rigg photos with her and a car she often takes the same pose.

Oh well, if I must.

Purely for research, of course.

I think the photo may have been touched up by hand using a white pencil
To remove the rust from the GT6?

Some of you might be interested in this video from 1980's. It's a custom car meet. Lots of bleached jeans and mullets.
It's hard to believe that the road is the main London to Brighton A23.

Isn't it customary to pull the nearest branch and thrash a 1300 when it won't start?

Yep. Most things were pretty expensive back then compared to today. That's £156.72 a week allowing for inflation.

I loved the start of the film. The voice was almost Eric Idle doing his best 1960s reporter impression. biggrin
