I think I'd go with 4. A bit hard to tell, but there appear to be no wheel trims and there does not appear to be the decorative strip along the trailing lip of the boot.
me too
Yep, also agree with it being a 4.

My mother had an Imp - my cousin had one too when he was at university.

I recall them as being horrid cars, although my cousin's was done up a bit like a rally car with the subtle addition of spotlights. I seem to recall his number plate was NAB or JAB. It was a long time ago.
I quite liked Imps. The single mum who lived next door had one and called me over on regular occasions to fix it... wink

Look how clean and free of junk/street furniture and general crap and mess that our high streets seemed cluttered with these days. Well, those towns that still have a high street with shops in that is.............

I'd guess at about 1979.

I'm pretty sure these are all in Liverpool, but I'm not exactly sure exactly where. I thought the first one was standing opposite Lime Street station and looking south, but maybe not. Late seventies, or possibly very early eighties.

This one is the Adelphi Hotel with the Big 'Ouse (The Vines) on the left.

Only the Beetle is a foreign make, though I guess Fords and Vauxhalls might have been built in Germany ?
Nope, only the Beetle.

Vauxhall's would have been made in Luton, and the Fords in the UK as well, the Anglia at the then new Halewood factory in Liverpool, and the Zephyr at Dagenham.
Vauxhall Vivas were built in Ellesmere Port.

Well, back then it the 60s it was either Mini or Imp. I had the box on wheels Austin 7 Mini - couldn't 'pull' anything!
One girlfriend said 'why does it whine and when you change down (that bloody awful long gear lever) does it always go 'Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh'?

Once she (girlfriend and Austin) disappeared I got an Imp - well, a Singer Chamois (my dad's) and everything changed. lick

For some reason it did the opposite of the Mini, and attracted the opposites! biggrin
And don't even go gear levers, the Imp's was short and in a different league as was its engine.
Natural progression was to a Sunbeam Imp Sport.
Happy days.

Indeed they were, but as there was no Viva in the picture that fact wasn't relevant to the question.... wink

Left to right

BMC 1100 (in the driveway, can't see which of many variants)
Reliant 3 wheeler

Hillman Minx
Hillman Husky? (Imp van)
Rover 75
Ford Cortina Mk1
Triumph Courier (Herald van)
Ford Anglia
Early Vauxhall Victor
Later Vauxhall Victor
Early Mini (small tail lights)
VW Beetle
Singer Gazelle
BMC 1100, Austin or Morris?
