Here's one of my auntie and uncle with their nearly new Capri (pic was taken in 1970). My auntie was 80 two weeks ago.
Very interesting........ you got any more of the Capri, as it looks like its fitted with Minilites Here's one of my auntie and uncle with their nearly new Capri (pic was taken in 1970). My auntie was 80 two weeks ago.
That would have been quite unusual for a Capri in 1970/71......!!
Was it an early V6 GT..?
No matt black bonnet though which was common then..?
Lots of questions.......we need answers to

I don't have any more pics, but I go and see them every Sunday, so will ask them if they have any. I don't think it was a V6, but I can remember the story of how he bought it. He had bought a brand new Mini Clubman (H reg), but it was riddled with silly faults. One of the front indicators kept filling with water for instance, and it turned out that it had no rubber seal on it. Good bit of BL quality control there!
Anyway, he kept it a month, decided that it was, in his words, 'crap' and traded it in for the Capri, which was a year old. He said the salesman asked why he was selling a brand new car, but he told him he had decided it just wasn't for him. He bought a brand new car pretty much every three years after that, but now has a 2001 Merc E class that he's owned from new (retirement meant no new car spending).

Austin A40 Countryman (with the tailgate) ?Plus an Imp has the 3 vents above its (different) hinges, so I knew it couldn't be that.

Not convinced, it looks too big and it appears to be 5 door.Plus an Imp has the 3 vents above its (different) hinges, so I knew it couldn't be that.

Main Oxford roundabout - looks like Oct 81 pm just before rush hour scribbled on back.
Today the road would be closed, police would be everywhere.
Back then, one cop car, and a few small road cones. The heavy crew get on with their job, and I even had time to park up and take a couple snaps.

The Stratos belonged to Bruno Ferrari , sadly no longer with us .................
I never knew that.I've just looked him up and found an article stating he wrote the Stratos off not far from where I took the pictures. Also he had a 131 Abarth which I took a picture of as well. I'll try and find that one and post here.

Will do. say hello from me and tell she's got a great pair of pins!
She's back, and this time with their Sunbeam Rapier. They had some nice cars back then, unlike my Dad, who never had anything worth photographing. Unless you like tatty Moggy Travellers or Maxis. Sheesh.
