That's got to be pre 1980s - looks more like early 70s
Not early 70’s, late 70’s and possibly 1980 as the poster said. That Concorde entered service in 1976 and the Mk4 Cortinas and Mk2 Capris suggest late 70’s.

I would expect a BL wedge to be there if it was 1976 or later

ETA
Livery on Air France Concorde indicates late 70s so my apologies (thanks Google wink)

Those were the days.... Not a Merc or a Beemer amongst them! Teasing me is the white car in the fuel dump boundary row, beyond the roof of the HC Viva. Could it be a Renault 25? Or the decal on the MK2 Escort? Could that make it a Harrier?

The white Renault is a 20. Also, the white Allegro estate is a Mk3 from 1980 onwards

Mk3 Capri between the Mk2 Escorts in the front row so cant be earlier than 78?

I first thought the Escort next to the HA van was a rare 4 door 1600 Sport but cant see the decal on rear quarter so probably a GL or Ghia with added boot spoiler.

Great picture!
I thought with a username like yours you'd know it straight away! It's an Escort Linnet edition, launched as a run out of the mk2 at the same time as the Harrier.

Top work, I should have got that! Think there was also another run out called the Goldcrest.

Photo was taken on 16th September 1980, was the first visit of a Concorde to Birmingham Airport.

I had a Linnet edition in period - white with a brown vinyl roof and brown stripe. Loved it smile

Found a few more photos of the Italian flood of November 1966, I wonder if any of the cars were salvageable...

When ever Ive seen flooded cars they are normally full of mud left behind when the water drains away, inches if not feet of the stuff.

I would imagine a bare shell restoration would be needed, so for most cars it wouldnt be worth the effort.

Dry out the electrics ,not much of that in 1966 ,turn engine over with spark plugs removed ,change engine oil if it's full of water.

Good to go ....and a hose down at Guiseppe's place.

Had a beautiful Escort Goldcrest 1.6 (711M block) XWP361W , they were also available in 1.3. Was a great car the rims were standard in the metallic brown colour and even the vinyl roof was an almost bronze colour. Had it for about 5 yrs in early ‘90s and went all over Europe in it with the SEOC. My brother still has two mint Silver Harriers which he has owned since maybe 1988. I will dig out some pictures

The Diesel loco was built some time between '61 & '67 and If I'm reading the number correctly 7642 it was built in '67. For a 12-18 month old engine the filthy state of it with faded paint sums up what was wrong with nationalised British Railways.

Yep - a Sulzer Type 2 / Class 25, the first type of loco I ever drove when I joined BR.

I've got some more similar material to post wink

That would be great especially if they include "forgotten lines".

I love the way none of us even give a mention to the old Fords and Singer/Hillman thing.
