Rod Stewart's gaff in the '70s, the white Miura on the right 'JLL 831K' is his, looks like Britt Ekland posing for posterity too...
I don't know when they listed it, but Talacrest were selling an ex Rod Stewart Miura, a yellow RHD SV which if it was sold in the last couple of years, probably went for well into seven figures. http://talacrest.com/Ferrari-Sales/Lamborghini-Miu...
Is this the car on the left of the photo above?
Stewart ordered a Phillips radio cassette with a record function, allowing him to record into the unit on the move. I bet this car has a tale or two to tell.

A brand new Escort RS2000 was about £1700 in 1974 - as a way of comparison.
So called "average wage" was about £3000 in 1974, £27000 in 2016 makes it about £9000 but an Omega Speed Master (moon watch) was £1000 in 1974 and it's "only" £3500 today.....at the time it felt more like a £3500 purchase would today.....if that makes any sense.Strela said:

Now, come on, young man. Explain the licence plate, please.Someone I knew of had purchased the car purely for the plate and therefore had no use for the XJ. I went to see him and purchased the car for a very reasonable price on the condition that the V5 remained in his name for the six months required so that he could then transfer it to a new car.
I got used to having "my plate" and I think the photo was to commemorate the end of our wonderful six months together.
The last time I saw it was on a Merc, with a driver and him sat in the back. Not sure if he's still with us, don't think he would still be driving if he is. Not listed by DVLA at the moment!
And thanks for the "young"

Such beautiful thing. I don't think Jaguar ever bettered the Series 2 XJ. At 4 years old it would still have been in good nick as well.
I agree, great looking car. But more than that, the XJ6 is one of the best cars ever in so many ways. Last year I ran a scuffy S1 for a bit as a daily, my chum has a new 5 series, we both agreed that the XJ6 is a much nicer car to have.Gassing Station | Classic Cars and Yesterday's Heroes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
