Hi, major progress this morning, the engine and gearbox are back in the car. Not an easy job. With an overdrive box it all has to go in bolted together and with the cylinder head on, it has to go in from the top.
Still loads to do. I had thought it would be done by the end of September but not looking likely. My brother is coming down in August to fit the wiring loom which will be another major step forward.

Had to smile when looking back through the thread. I see that XKman said in 2011that the restoration would take "at least two years". Yup, when you are doing it yourself (and my hat's off to you sir) time does have a way of getting away from you.

Wow. I genuinely thought you must have mistyped that date (2011) but you haven't. Where did those years go?
Well, it is now nearly mid September. I have been spending two days a week on the car and lots of parts have been put back on. The most significant is the triple SU's. These were only fitted to 'S' versions of the XK150 wich had a modified inner wing, so we have had to cut out part of our iñner wing and fabricate a new box to go inside the wing to protect the ram pipes from the elements.
