Most of the cars are from the 50s, so they weren't left there after WW2. Odd place. A belgian Yank-metal specialist breaker's yard?

The Yank bases stuck around for a while after the end of WW2 ...

My brother reckons there's a barn in nearby Kiltarlity full of old cars, but I couldn't find it when I looked a couple of years ago.
Were you aware of the large stash of classics stored in a field on the Belladrum Estate?. They have all gone now but when I was there a few years back there was a Gilbern, a few Sunbeam Alpines, Granada's and various others. Last time I was there the stash was down to two Alpines which looked they were ready to go too, but hopefully for restoration.

Not a classic per se, but clearly not driven for a while.

Eta... I have no clue why this picture is upside down!

That's exactly where I was looking, and now I know why I couldn't find them. I was told a barn, but obviously not. Mystery solved.

Ascot actually... Thinking about it, I clearly had the iPhone upside down when I took the pic.

Also speaking of Cyprus, I tracked down loads of old stuff on holiday there last year including a scrapyard with lots of old British trucks, inc these:

Just had a look at your photostream, which I enjoyed immensely. clap
Thank you. 'Classics left to die/rot' is exactly my type of thing!

These are all near Paphos, not all classics but certainly left to die.

The Beetles deserve it & the Mk2 Escort looks to be in a standard 'post-rally' pose hehe

I'm not sure if someone has posted any snaps of this place already..?
Basically, the story goes that this was an old world war 2 US military base in the Belgian Ardennes. When the war ended, the soldiers parked their cars up and hopped on their flights home.
60 years later, this is what remains..

Most of the lumps have been pilfered, and the forest has taken the rest. Incredibly, the chrome details remain as good as new.
Great place.

This Citroen BX and Lotus Esprit no longer look as tidy as this, but were still in the same locations on Saturday. Both are turning a nice shade of green. They are about 2 houses apart from each other in Burnham-on-Crouch.

It's about 40 years too late to report this, it will have been scrapped or rotted away completely by now, but in the 60s my auntie had a flat in Pensax court, Worcs and in the grounds was one of these (the truck, not the bridge!) and various other military vehicles, this is the only one I can remember. My cousin and I used to play on them, you'd not be allowed to do that these days; Elf n Safety!

This Lotus was here for years, up on stands. No idea if it is still there:
