Equally the Jag XJ220 is apparently fine it was just dirty and dusty, if you look there is no damage to it. It's been posted on here before.

That countach is a write-off in an insurance yard. You can buy bits of it from Eurospares.
When did Euro open a US yard?
Looks like a UK number plate

Not too sure it's been left to die/rot, but spotted this in a car park in the City last week, it didn't look like it had moved in a long time.

I know its rather low brow BG, but if you see it again, could you pop a note under the windscreen smile
I saw it being driven near Harrods in the summer, so it can't have been parked up for too long
It's certainly not neglected and it does move.

P.S. The City appears to have moved 4 miles to the left. wink
Here you go:

Sorry, I'm from Derby, so it's all City to me smile

It was covered in a fair bit of dust, but I refer the right honourable Gentlemen to the first line of my OP biggrin

Not exactly left to die/rotting though is it, it's well and truly dead! (unlike the driver I hope!).

I might be being a bit of a wuss here but some of these pictures make Me want to weeping!.

If ever I win the big one on the Euro millions I think I'll spend My time and money trying to save as many of these cars as possible!

The vehicle details for SIJ 3000 are:
Date of Liability 01 03 2011
So it's taxed and was at least recently MoT'ed? confused
No Sorn is only if you taxed your car after 2000ish I believe if it has not been taxed before the date sorn came in, it does not have to be sorned as not on their system. If that makes sense.
NOt sure that's right. My Griff is an 03/99 and gets SORNed, I read that as meaning it is taxed to March 2011.
Sorn came into effect 31st Jan 1998 (Not 200ish) any vehicle not taxed at any time between 1998 and 2010 will come up as Sorn not due. There thats a better explanation.

So this car has been there prior to 1998 which means a minimum of 13 years sat up.
SORN not due means the SORN declaration is not up for renewal until the date of liability. This car is currently being declared SORN annually. If it had been laid up since before the SORN came into force, it would simply say Unlicenced, not SORN not due.

My T4 has been off the road for two years, and says SORN not due on the DirectGov website as it's delared SORN each year. However some of the aging cars kept in my lockup that have been off the road since before the SORN came into force all say Unlicenced on the website.

Just to prove that you can find out almost anything these days, I posted a link to the Saab Sonett photo ( I used to own a 1968 version) on a Saab Forum and have discovered that it was owned by a well known Saab Engineer and Racer - the Company is called Motor Sport Services - his wife (I believe) posted this comment on her facebook page

Hi: This is the first time I have acutally used facebook. The car is a 74 Sonett bought at auction by a dealer friend. Pretty sad condition. We own it now and it most likely will be stripped for parts. I looked up pistonheads and didn't see it. Probably was in classified. Happy new year all.

This is part of the 'Memorial' at Oradour sur Glane but if they deteriorate at the rate they are, what's going to be there in the future?

One of the most sobering places I've ever been, nothing should be touched, even if in a few years it becomes just piles of rubble and unidentifiable bits of metal...

And yes, it is an original. That photo is at least 30 years old, and the 250 GTO has now been rescued and restored.

There was a thread here a while back about an Aston Martin on someones drive, but I cant find the thread at the moment
Any more info on this? Story on the web?

Same for the Aston, tried to do a search but no luck!

Sad seeing these cars rotting away when someone could be keeping them on the road and having fun in them.

No, you won't find anything, other than it's not for sale and that several people have asked, what do you want to know?

That would be GTO chassis 3589GT, left in an open field by its owner from 72 to 86 . . . it was after all just an old racing car wink

Looks like this now smile

williamp said there was a thread on it. So tried searching for the thread to see if there was any info/pics. I'm not in a position to even think about owning an Aston anyway.
