Evry nice David, Riley One-Point-Five was my first car, and it was blue! Bought it for a fiver and it was fine until my brother stamped on the brakes too hard and the suspension came up through the inner wings
Like your Lagonda project on your website too...
Not my Lagonda unfortunately; my car 'pocket money' doesn't stretch that far. The Lagonda belongs to my very good chum David Brown (appropriately!) a car restorer.Like your Lagonda project on your website too...
It took us months to pick the right shade of blue so pleased you think we got it right!
I love that Riley.
I've been looking at them for a while now as a "rolling project" though have resigned myself that I'm going to have to sell something to make space for it, as to leave it outside wouldn't work for either me or the car.
I've come across THIS ONE a couple of times now. A similar colour to yours as well (possible a bit darker?). It recently went through an auction in N Yorkshire which I was meaning to get to but time wasn't on my side that day so I missed it. It looks like the dealer who is now selling it bought it from there and has done a bit of "tidying" on it, in that it didn't used to have the white walls and is now polished up a bit more. It's probably a bit more than I want to pay now, but still looks a genuine car.
Incidentally, I'm not begrudging the dealer making money on it, that's what he does for a living so good luck to him.

There's a bit of a story behind mine but as this is a picture thread I'll leave it for another day. The one advertised - I can see some parts missing from the engine bay and the paint, even though it may have been polished, looks flat in places. It appears to be low mileage but might have been around the clock. In any case, I'd inspect it very carefully for rust. PM me if you'd like me to look at it, it isn't too far away. The price needs lopping by at least a couple of grand.I've been looking at them for a while now as a "rolling project" though have resigned myself that I'm going to have to sell something to make space for it, as to leave it outside wouldn't work for either me or the car.

Appreciate the offer but I'm not going for it as I haven't got the space at the moment. I've checked previous MoTs and the mileage seems legit, at least to as far back as the Gov site lets me go. No rust mentioned on any of them either, though, if there was, it could have been repaired earlier than the site lets me go back to
As for the money, I agree entirely with you that it would be a better buy at around £5k, but I happen to know that the dealer paid a bit more than that with the buyers premium from the auction included.
ETA: The reason for the want is that I learnt to drive in the Wolseley version, which was a bit of a dog to be honest.

Thanks for the kind comments - serious credit should also go to my partner Dawn. She fabricated all of the new interior panels exactly replicating the originals and put up with me rebuilding the engine in her dining room without any hint of a complaint. She's definitely a "keeper" (both Dawn and the Torino Italia) ;-)

My Intermeccanica Torino (Italia) is finally finished after almost 2 years of working every spare moment on it and today the weather cooperated and I took it out for a few photographs....
Lovely!Delicate little car with Italian styling from a great era and then a sodding great yank V8 hidden away.
