5.0 V8 or 3.2 straight 6.... There's a premium to pay for a V8 model and in my budget you get a better straight 6 example (which is more than adequate to shift this car along)
This car just ticket all the important boxes for me, price, condition, servcie history, colour etc and the engine wasnt really a consideration.
Ive got a pano roof which is a bonus, but those AMG wheels which everyone seems to like.....I dont know. Im not really a fan of "big inch" alloys, and may get a set of original 16's for the carpet like ride quality, and cheaper tyres !

Exhaust tip, what would it have come from the factory with, just a single pipe ?
Twin pipes but downturned at the tips and hidden behind the bumper. I think you have the AMG tips. I prefer the 8 hole alloys like this but yours do have period correct AMG optional wheels I think. Edited by Dapster on Saturday 28th April 16:15
Thanks chaps. I couldn't resist it having had several many moons ago. I've treated it to some heated sports leather, b12's and new cooling system, oem exhaust etc. It's been sympathetically filled with about 9 litres of Bilth hamber UC and now serves as my daily. I'm chuffed to bits with it

Er, is that a 993 Turbo hiding in your garage? Fantastic combo! Please don't tell me that you are also dating Maria Sharapova as otherwise we're going to fall out....You're right about the car though, probably a bit young for this thread though but may be of some interest.

Twin pipes but downturned at the tips and hidden behind the bumper. First gen - grey bumpers, twin pipes concealed
First facelift - body coloured bumpers, twin pipes concealed
Second facelift - body coloured door handles, single pipe visible
I think yours has the grey door handles so yes, should have twin concealed pipes.

Having spotted a SL320 today with a single pipe I did a bit of research and found out the following:
First gen - grey bumpers, twin pipes concealed
First facelift - body coloured bumpers, twin pipes concealed
Second facelift - body coloured door handles, single pipe visible
I think yours has the grey door handles so yes, should have twin concealed pipes.
Just missed one of these - vendor advertised it way back in August, I saw it Tuesday evening (after kicking myself for not registering to bid and missing a very nice 840ci at Coys for 6.5K and vowing to makes amends) confirmed it was still for sale on Wednesday, rang to arrange a viewing on Friday - gone! First gen - grey bumpers, twin pipes concealed
First facelift - body coloured bumpers, twin pipes concealed
Second facelift - body coloured door handles, single pipe visible

1984, manual, N/A, black/black, 121k miles, well-known to the 924 Owners Forum, original service book, CoA, receipts back to 1988, Sports Seats, reconditioned gearbox, suspension refresh, etc.
Drove it back from Dorset to West Cornwall on Saturday and it didn't miss a beat. Handles very nicely thanks to the even weight distribution. Popped the (huge) sunroof, cranked up the De La Soul cassette and headed west!
