Recently bought this after searching for two or three years for the right one. It’s a credit to its former owner.
Looks great. Ford running gear?
2.0 litre pinto, 5 speed box with quick shift and a Ford axle.

Nice – but to complete the look needs a big hoop aerial, and poss also a green sunstrip on the windscreen, with "PETE" over the driver's side in white capitals.

Well this is how I bought it but I’ve de-cluttered a bit!

It drives very well. The stripes and other bits were fitted by the guy who restored it, who has done a fabulous job. They just weren’t to my taste but that didn’t stop me buying it.
I can’t wait for some salt free roads so I can use it regularly.

Getting rid of the add-ons improves it immensely.

To go back to the subject of white wall tyres, mine had them when I bought it at auction but I was never a fan.

Part of the restoration work was to get the tyres swapped so the white walls ended-up on the inside.
Would love to see some pictures of the interior.
I have one here which is very much a 'before' picture:

Thanks. I might even ditch the alloys at some point. I’m thinking some Mexico style steels could look good. I’ll post some photos if I do down that road.

Agreed. It's a great looking car. Personally I would re-instate the spot lights because I think they look just fine. I'd also love to see it on some original Rostyles or maybe some Minilites. It's your car though so just enjoy it driving

To be honest I was 50/50 with the spotlights but I love how clean the front looks now so I can’t imagine refitting them. I’ve still got them so never say never.

Very nice. My car appears to have been optioned by a pimp.

Love a bit of velour. Shame you can’t hunt them any more.

I love that and am a big fan of velour, especially in a funky colour.

That clock in the centre of the vents must have been an option as I just have a third blower.

Yours is a 78?

First time outside since it arrived almost 9 months ago. Still feels like it needs months more work before it will be on the road. Almost regret buying it at this point.
