The smaller stainless steel folding stocked guns they all used (especially Face) were actually 5.56mm chambered M14's (probably made by Ruger) but most people thought they were AK's.
Ruger mini-14's, IIRC.

Robocop's machine pistol was also pretty sweet. Made mincemeat of the target on the firing range, and that rapist's testicles for that matter.

Failing that the gun in Beverly Hills Cop III. You know, the one with a CD Player in it.

Modified Beretta M93R. I seem to make a hobby of working out what the weapons in any film I see are.

The FN P90 from Stargate SG-1. Started out as a "Personal Defence Weapon" mainly bought as a straight Assault Rifle.
It's a submachine gun, not an assault rifle. Quite accurate for the type and the 50 round clip is handy, but it hasn't got the killing range to use as an assault rifle.

Prefer the SIG 550 then G36. If conditions are very harsh, I'll take an AK47.
It's an armour piercing sub machine gun - hence the PDW designation.

What about the 'golden gun'? A bit naff looking but pretty cool all the same.

Desert Eagle 5.0 as seen in Snatch is pretty cool - especially with Vinnie Jones' introducing it as he did.

The Death Star was a pretty cool weapon!
In snatch he fires off 8 rounds in the pub - making it a .44 as a .50 only holds 7 rounds nerd

He cocks it before firing, so he can't have put one in.

How about the gun from Dune, the one which the user had to say some weird words, sounded like they said "Mooooadeeb" or something on that note.

The two strange guns that 'Mouse' has in The Matrix:

Custom made electrically-driven 12 gaugescool It's a shame he doesn't even get the chance to use them properly before the cops blow him away, he could've at least shredded one or two of themshoot

The SS190 round certainly has armour-piercing capabilities, but not the range to replace an assault rifle.

Ah well, film crews never get it right. I'm always amused when people are shown using sofas as cover, seems a little pointless given your bog standard 9mm will go though 9 inches of wood.

Back on topic, how about the bone gun from eXistenZ? Very odd and a tad disturbing. Obviously not real (no, really?) but different, certainly.

Or the other solution to the 'how to get a weapons through detectors problem' - the composite pistol from In the line of fire. Not sure I'd like to fire anything made of dental adhesive to be honest.

Down at my gun club, we refer to 'Hollywood Magazines'.

This is a magazine only found in hollywood films, that mystically holds at least 5 times as many rounds as is physically possible. This is particularly apparent with guns like Uzi's when multiple 2 second bursts are done without reloads... Or films with revolvers where you count about 20 shots without a reload.

Then the guy he is shooting at hides behind an open car door - LOL!

Guttingly - even the Barret .50 in Smokin' Aces that they talked about hand loads and all sorts of gun buff stuff with, still had a scene with a couple of cuts that had the woman loosing off more than the maximum 10 (not 11 as you watch her cycle the first round when loading) rounds in a row that can be fired from that magazine....

I love films which get the gun play right like Black Hawk Down, Heat and
Last man standing for example. More important than having the biggest/best gun IMHO
