Converting a 4 speed 280i to 5 speed

I use my 280i FHC almost daily and wondered if there was a 5 speed box that bolts straight in.

5 speed Type 9 from an S1 will drop in, box's from later 2.9 engined S series cars will also fit but will have electronic rather than cable speedo drive

Can't help with the actual conversion. But I did swap a 4 speed TR7 to a 5 speed. Obviously on paper the 5 speed is better. But it changes the character of the car.

And there is just something undefinable about how 4 speed cars drive.
