And you have a car with 320/330 bhp and 400lb/ft with switchable maps, supercar performance and a hell of a lot cheaper to build / easier to live with than any Honda / Audi elise, all in a super reliable package

Ok so what evidence do you have the numbers are differant? If Seloc say its 450 odd cars they must have that figure from somewhere It didn't come to them in a dream.....

I wouldn't pay £34k for any car! lol
None of mine have ever cost more than £13k (excluding my labour) - except the Reverie converted Exige (which was about £29k), but then repairing them yourself has always been the best option for me luckily

Andy Graham, Archivist at Lotus reckons 458 total- 410 S and 48 SE,the first 27 cars sold were all dealer launch cars in Graphite with black and tan interior, all 2007 MY ( although registered from 56 plate on).

Following up on Caterhamfan's comment, attached below (and de-identified to protect the innocent!) is the covering letter that I got from Andy Graham of Lotus when I purchased the Certificate of Provenance for my Europa S that I bought about six months ago. Hopefully that will put to bed any further questions over production figures.
I noticed in early 2012 that the penny had dropped that the 2006-2010 Europa is a very good car. I realised this when I decided to get one and saw three cars sold by three garages in rapid succession. Only then did I find out how few were produced. I was just really lucky to find what I was looking for; a black one with a black interior. My car (a 57 plate, with dealer fitted 225 upgrade, about 48k miles on the clock at the time, and had previously been a company car of all things!) came up for sale at a Lotus (now ex-Lotus) franchise at the end of March for about £18k. Suffice to say I'm very happy with what I paid for it and the car is definitely a "keeper", especially now it's got an all alloy radiator and a stainless steel exhaust fitted!

I was there until about 1030 so it was probably mine, though there was another Europa on the acceptance list, at least for a while. You don't see many around, and most people have no idea what they are (some special edition Elise/Exige probably). I'd love to see what a Europa would look like with the front end of the new Exige S 
Seems counter intuitive to speculate that a car will depreciate to a set price in order to buy and complain when they don’t. If your buying a car with such financial consideration then it should be a plus point that the Europa hasn’t depreciated. Its lack of depreciation should be looked on as a bonus financially as it means one of the biggest costs in owning a car is negated.
Not being critical of people looking in to the financial aspect of Europa ownership. But its funny how the Europa seems to be a head purchase when most car enthusiast buy these sort of cars with the heart. Be warned though if you get one that can quickly change. Hence why there are not many on the market.

because an M5 is directly comparable to a Europa S? Also, base car + 13k is roughly what you just get the SC honda engine installed for, not including anything else or a CC... (it's actually 34k looking at your numbers) - this opens a whole host of opportunities at that price, much as I'd like a Europa I don't think I could justify that on one, I'd be looking at an Evora amongst other things (e.g. 997, M5..)I guess my point was that they have great potential even if you have to pay other people to work on them... but never mind, keep saving for that M5 hey :up
Interresting reading blog, I put my car up for sale about 3 months ago, 2006 with about 21000 on clock for about £18,990. It had the full history and in tip top condition. I priced high as did not want to sell and panicked when someone contacted me about the car, fortunately they did not follow up. It has just had its b service, a new set of rear tyres and a piece of exhaust changed and it drives brilliantly. Have had for 4 years and most reliable car I have had. I love it and fact that when my wife or I pick up 15 year old son, no one interested in the range rovers, Porsches etc
