Got myself a 2012 Elise SC , and every time I begin to drive it the windscreen inside is covered in what looks like mist, I thought at first the AC would clear it, but it did nothing ! It's not mist , it's dry and cleans off easily with a cloth but it's a royal PITA , it completely covers the whole inside windscreen and I'm clueless as to what it is? Any ideas ?

My 2016 Cup has the same issue. Have to clean the screen every 3 days more or less. Likewise, its a PITA because even at the best of times its not easy to do. The bottom of the screen is the hardest part to reach and as luck would have it, the area that is most affected. Its difficult to clean because its seems a mixture of very light humidity and what seams like grease.

I have seen this when the cabin filter is blocked and more misting than normal occurs or rarely when there is a very small coolant leak in the heater matrix.

I've found a few threads on it. Mainly owners in hot country's like the USA bhing about it, I'm sure it's not the heater matrix as I cleaned the windscreen and just left the car for a week, didn't move or start it and the windscreen was dirty again ! General consensus is the dash out gasses and it's much worse in direct sun light. I might see if I can find a sealing agent , rainex on the inside of the screen has also been suggested as a fix

Switch ventilation off from the screen - just send it to feet and vents.

The ventilation to screen fires all sorts of Kack at the glass and makes it dirty very quickly.
