Lockdown track exhaust swap. Saved myself a couple of hundred quid on an easy job.

What a stunning car.

I drove one at Hethel along with the factory tour and I fell in love.

Great spec too although I'd have gone for black wheels.

Very envious!!

Yeah, just a dozen or so bolts, some muscle to lift the exhaust in / out and job done. A bit like big scale Meccano. No ramp or lift, done in 3 hours. Could do it in 2 I guess now I know the score.

Is your 2bular the track valved or the road valved and how noisy is it to the standard exhaust?

I'm debateing the road one but don't want it any louder than the standard, but I'm concerned if I go track vlved it will be too quiet!

Cheers

The 2bular exhaust isn't valved as it's designed to meet track noise regs. As far as I'm aware that's the only way on the 380/410/430. The road system is valved.

For noise comparisons..... The 2bular is 93db approx as it is and 90db with the add on cans. The standard road system is in the 80s until the valve opens..... and then you're looking at around 115db.

What a fantastic evening at Brands on Thursday. Lucky with the weather too. 63 laps completed and no dramas.

These look great. I'm very tempted by one, especially the new 20th Anniversary editions.

What's the rearward visibility like in real life? I had an S2 Exige Performance Pack on order many years ago but cancelled it after a test drive, because of the absence of rearward visibility.

Here is a view out of the back of my one, way better than the view from an S2 Exige: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4nwWi_CXSQ

This guy is not the fastest but it would be my 1st choice for aftermarket Lotus exhaust, quality is excellent.

I had the QP track exhaust on my Sport 380 and it’s going on the 410. It does the job for track use. If you give it the berries everywhere you’ll still trip the meters at Goodwood, but they are particularly sensitive there.

The QP is also a fair bit lighter than stock too.

I was at Goodwood yesterday running the QP. Experience is telling me that the noisiest part of the 410 (with the QP fitted) is the supercharger. Cans on or off I was close to hitting the driveby limit. Thruxton is a similar situation..

Are you running the stock toyota airbox?
Or is that changed on the 410?

Have ordered a QP exhaust for the 350. But also tempted by a Komotec or Alias23 intake, but heard they increase noise levels?

Thanks
P

Airbox is different on the 410/430.

I've heard cars have had issues on track with upgraded airboxes. Might be worth asking Alias23 for advice on that.

Thanks, but I presume that's an Exige 350 as opposed to the 410 or 430 with the louvred rear panel. What's that one like? I'm potentially considering an Exige 410 20th anniversary edition (and will test drive an Exige 410 or 430 reasonably soon).
