I think Larini make an exhaust for the Europa S.

They have a Japanese website.

That's a lovely motor but not many were built so I think you'll struggle for some parts. A friend had to have one of his headlight units rebuilt after MoT failure as he couldn't find a replacement. You could try posting on SELOC or The Lotus Forums or the VX220 Forum. I think the VX 220 had the same engine but not certain.

I think there is a good FB page for these, not sure if it's UK based for spares etc.

Sure it's this one. Things like group buying power for batch reproduction of parts.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/lotus.europa/

As mentioned, SELOC is a good starting point.

Good luck, nice car.

Whereabouts in Japan are you? There are a few Lotus dealers in Japan but the one in Fukuoka seem to be very helpful and knowledgeable and one of the technicians there runs a Europa SE so may be of some use to you??

I was misunderstanding.
VX220 is Opel speedster.
I remembered it.

I live in Chiba.(By the way Tokyo Disneyland is in Chiba. Not Tokyo.)
I take maintenance to the garage Shimaya.(Ti Racing.)
The shop is The series champion at Japan Lotus cup.

>Ij04
I'm trying contact them.
But I am worried because I am not good at English.

I am on the VX220 forum, if your car has a Vauxhall/Opel Z22SE or Z22LET or any other related Ecotec engine then I would strongly suggest you have a look at the VX220.org forum. Practically anything worth discussing will already have been discussed and probably in some depth, there are numerous extremely clever and generally friendly people on there and many of us are now making and supplying parts no longer available from Lotus or GM. I think you will find it extremely helpful!

Thank you very much.
I heard from a dealer today that this car is out of support.
I also heard that even a rudimentary ECU could lead to a fatal failure.
It is no longer possible to dispel the reputation of this car.
It would be great if I could get a clue to repair when this car broke down.

We have a similar situation with the VX220 which has been unsupported since, I think, 2016. Nonetheless we are between us now making pretty much all the spare parts no longer supplied by GM, necessary to keep these cars on the road. If you have a good Lotus agent in Japan then you should not have too many problems finding mechanical parts here in the UK. I suspect that you might have problems with things like replacement lights should you need them.

Will the light break?
I am confused.
And when the engine breaks, it's hard to tell what the engine broke.
And there are few shops in Japan that can maintain this car.
Don't know where the maintenance book is?

>Overall D
Yes it is.
It's RS Watanabe's Eight spork wheels.
It is the same as the one attached to INITIAL D AE86.

The lights are no better or worse than any lights on any other car but they are sometimes involved in accidents, perhaps more often than on less sporting cars!!

So far as the engine is concerned this family of Ecotec engines has been manufactured in enormous numbers and used by Vauxhall, Opel, Saab, Holden, Chevrolet, Pontiac and Oldsmobile, it has also been used by non GM manufacturers like Fiat and Subaru, so there is an enormous amount of knowledge and experience with these engines and should be no problems with spare parts. Any competent garage should be able to service them without problem.
