I doubt it - fairly sure Brands will still go ahead as planned.
It was mentioned in one of the previous threads, just before the season kicked off, that BTCC was moved into the "Elite Sport" category, which allowed them to host events so long as there were no crowds or public access.
Based on the details of Lockdown 2 - Revenge of The BoJo, which still allows elite sporting events like the Premier League, etc, to go ahead, BTCC should be fine.

It's a joke either way, if there's one type of even you can easily be distanced at It's a race meeting. The only BTCC round I've been to where things cab be a bit of a squeeze is Oulton Park and even that doesn't have random people less than a couple of metres apart Bet BTCC wish that had happened with them.
My guess - the powers that be just assume motorsport = everything is like the British GP and there are a high percentage of people in grandstands.
The inconsistencies are so odd. Castle Combe was able to run Action Days (basically big club shows with a track day, for anyone not aware) with the full circuit open, thousands of people in attendance, and then at the same time had to hold races behind closed doors where there would have been less than half the number of people in attendance and spread much more thinly around the entire perimeter.

Thought the action days weren't open to the public just the people exhibiting in the club stands could be wrong. But totally agree on the point none of it has made any sense. The only reason btcc was put into elite was someone must have told them it was live on tv it cant be because of the driving talent as there are more pros(elite driver) in the gts than btcc.The inconsistencies are so odd. Single 'display' passes were available to all for the Action Days, so I could rock up in my Skoda Citigo and attend the event in exactly the same way as if I was able to attend as a member of the public.I'm guessing, as an outdoor event and not sanctioned by Motorsport UK it was an easy workaround for them to run the event in a 'COVID-secure' way.

In theory, but if you had been to any events this year, you would have seen groups of people standing shoulder to shoulder, spectating by the catch-fencing/the parc ferme. People do not follow the rules and because of the lack of income and lack of general public (in theory) being present, circuits have reduced the number of security personnel present, and so there is no one to tell them to keep apart.LucyP said:

Really? I’ve been to a couple of events at Brands Hatch (Festival Italia, Masters Historic and a couple of regular club days) and Lydden (British Rallycross and Historics on the Hill) and thought people were generally being pretty sensible,,,Gassing Station | General Motorsport | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
