I think I’ve managed about 500 miles between SORNs....

I have sorn’d mine only just had it only done a few hundred miles and I’d say quite a few of them were driving it home. Oh well looking forward to the good weather next year.

I went out to give my motorhome a run to see if injector cleaner would sort it. I ran the tank down to fumes and then filled up, only to find a large puddle of diesel when I went back to it after paying as (as it turned out...) the tank had split.

Apparently the AA won't turn out if the vehicle is SORNed...

Me too this morning.

Grand total of about 600 miles since it went back on the road in July. I've spent more on VED than I have on putting petrol in it this year.

Just SORN'd mine, was considering keeping it on the road for another month but no point now really.

Having just bought a Fiesta ST on 13th October, I'm debating whether to SORN it too and save myself £23 of DVLA tax money when we've got the family bus to use for the next month.

Although UK weather is generally st there are still dry days during the winter months. Putting a car away for months on end doesn't do them any good.

That's why I love having a tax exempt classic, no need to worry about SORN'ing every winter, or even MOT now - just take it out whenever you want.

The problem around here is that when the sun comes out, the local council throw rock salt in huge quantities everywhere. Apparently humans can’t drive safely in cold weather anymore.

Main reason for SORN though is with lockdown, I simply haven’t got anywhere to go in a impractical sports car with no boot.

Fiesta got declared SORN last night.

No point in using it for now, as only doing the school run..

SORN'd the Evora and the Clio a couple of months ago. I think I managed about 200 miles in the latter!

I'm not SORNing my car this time - trying to start the bd after 8 months without use - new battery required and it starts (eventually) in a huge cloud of unburned diesel as not all the cylinders could be arsed...ugh.

Then a front new caliper as one had rusted up solid, and now it needs new rear discs as they sound like someone is doing some angle-grinding when you slow down....

Nope. This time I'm driving it regularly no matter what.

I've never been a SORNER (although I was tempted this year. Do you need to get different insurance, or (I presume) the insurance companies aren't bothered as you are less likely to have a shunt.
