Very surprised to see a car with a tub looking like this being advertised as a "lovely little Lotus Elise"

I won't name and shame. The advertiser does mention the damage but it's buried under a lot of prose.

If you're looking at a bargain yellow S1 with a very flowery description and lots of glossy photos please carefully check and make sure you're happy with its condition.

To be fair, the seller's advert does say, "We have photographed the panel behind the drivers' seat as there appears to be some deflection/damage. Please ensure you have made your own investigations into this before bidding."

At least they're up front about it. If it was an S2 that area is covered so you'd probably not know it was there.

Yeah, even so I’m not sure the bidders realise the true condition of this car, there’s a lot of money bid for a car which will never ever have a strong and straight chassis again.

Yeah, they havent tried to hide anything. I cant see anything wrong with the advert?

Is it a silver one and a yellow one glued together?

This image should be in the advert, I don't think the damage description covers it.

Taken from S1 FB group.

Is there anything structural under there or is it just a poor repair to a hole in the sill?
The angle iron is mysterious hehe

Just checked, sold for £11,750.

Several 'warning' comments were left on the auction page. Deleted shortly afterwards.

Sad that the buyer didn't do any due diligence. I would hate to stumble upon a thread about your new car after the event.

Still unclear on the section iron, possible cosmetic or the old towpost glued underneath.

Only an assumption, strong money for that car. If I read this thread or any of the previous ones on the S1 group it would put me off.

Do you think it's worth £11,750 based on the info?
